Team Relationship Builder: Fruit of the Spirit
    pile of different fruits

    Based on: Galatians 5:22-23

Objectives: Finding out more about the women in a group or team

Materials: drawing paper, markers, colored paper, other craft materials

Procedure: This works well with a new planning team, for a conference or retreat planning team who are just beginning to get to know each other. Ask each lady to think of a piece of fruit that describes her personality the best. Then have each one draw the fruit, or create something to represent the fruit and ask them to share how this fruit relates to their personality. Ask them to think carefully about it and use it as an opportunity to share about themselves with the group.

(Ex: Grapes best describes me. I love groups but I can be picked out of the bunch to be alone. I can lead and I don't mind being a follower. I love working with people. I will speak my opinion and I some times do not take criticism well, but I am learning not to wear my feelings on my sleeve.)

This is a great opportunity for women to share in a fun and interesting way. After everyone has told about their "fruit-style," remind them how the fruit in our lives is powered by the Holy Spirit and that God's desire is for the team to work together toward a common goal. Then review the purpose for the team to work together (retreat, leadership, etc.) and spend some time in prayer.

    Event Idea: Seasons of Faith
    seasonal table setting

This event was a dessert fellowship time for our women's ministry group.

Promotion: We bought blank bookmarks and decorated them with seasonal stickers and included the name and date of the event. These were handed out as invitations the Sunday before the event.

Description: Before the event we selected people to decorate sets of tables according to the four seasons. We then labeled the tables with months of the year.

When the ladies arrived, they sat at the table that represented their birth month.

For our program, we had several of the ladies in our group share a song, a skit or their testimony. In keeping with the theme we had asked three ladies in different "seasons" of their walk with God to share their testimony with the group.

For dessert, each table had their own birthday cake decorated according to their season.

WM.NET Note: This would be a fun event to hold once a quarter to celebrate birthdays or just for a Ladies Night Out. Use the season theme and do one in the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Have one of your leaders with a birthday in that quarter share a short testimony or devotional.

    IceBreaker: We Are the Body
women lying down in a circle

Materials: Little slips of paper with parts of the body listed.
