Objective
Interaction, mixing, chatting, laughing, creativity and fun for a Christmas gathering, meeting, dinner, retreat etc.
Materials
White sheets of copy paper
Instructions
Give each woman a sheet of white paper with the instruction that they are to create the best snowflake that they can. Here’s the catch, they only can use their hands – no scissors, sharp cutters, etc. They can fold the paper, tear with their hands or bite with their teeth only! This sounds simple, but you will see how hard it is to tear paper when you have it folded a couple of times. Once everyone has completed their flake (or time has run up) you can have the women vote on which snowflake is the best or the funniest or whatever criteria you choose. The winner should win something “snow” related such as a chocolate snowman, snow globe, etc.
Wrap Up discussion: Just like the snow flakes that you have created, each of you are unique, special and a one-of-a-kind woman created by God to sparkle and share His light. Don’t try to be someone else, be the best “flake” that you can be this Christmas Season.
After they created and voted for the winner, we collected all the flakes and then put them up on the wall for the rest of the season to enjoy the memory of the fun. We placed a banner over them that said, “Some of my best friends are flakes!” I enjoyed the memory so much that I took them home last year and this year they will be on my wall in my hallway at home with the banner. Since I’m the women’s coordinator of our church it will also remind me to pray for each woman every time I walk by them.
